Dr. Kamarul brings solid experience in corporate leadership, PMO, strategy development and transformation.


Key achievements:

* Led operation restructuring & business turnaround of Tropicana Golf and Country Resort (hospitality and services) towards profitability. Managing operations during MCO. Capturing demand rebound on events and F&B after reopening. Introduced NPS.
^ EBITDA + RM 1.3 m in Q4 2021

* Led the execution of CIMA's Transformation Plan (TP20). Focusing on Operation Excellence and cement plant performance
^ EBITDA + RM 80 m in 2020 viz - RM 200 m in 2017

* Led the development of Digital Transformation and Smart Factory (DTSF) blueprint for CIMA (cement plant operation). Detail study with Roland Berger
^ Operation savings of RM 50 m

* Appointed Lab Leader to find ways in reducing cement plant coal consumption of cement plant by 15%
^ Operation savings of RM 15 m per year

* Led Annual Operating Plan (AOP), developed overarching strategy, tactical initiatives, corporate scorecard and management KPIs. Produced strategy papers to the Board (CIMA)

* Appointed Lab Leader by the Ministry of Works Malaysia. Developed proposal to accelerate Industrialised construction focusing on eco-system and supply chain. Presented to YAB PM, EPU and Khazanah Nasional (Do-IDS Lab)

* Monitoring quaterly financial performance and value creation plan of UEM Group's operating companies ie. PLUS, CIMA, Sunrise and Edgenta

* Business incubation of UEM Suria (Social Infrastructure & AH). Developed detail feasibility study & operation model. Set organization structure and raise up seed capital (H2O Lab)

* Led Lafarge's R&D strategy and product pipeline
^ New revenue stream amounted of RM 40 m in 2017

* Led R&D and commercialization of Fastbuild - IBS monolithic system for affordable housing scheme. Built 70 houses in Besut & Setiawan (MyBN Home)

Led the company towards profitability (EBITDA RM 80 million FY20 vs. RM 200 million losses FY17) via a comprehensive transformation plan (TP20). Developed Digital Transformation and Smart Factory blueprint to drive production modernization and Industry 4.0, potential savings of RM 50 million in 3 years.
